boatingexamine is an independent study resource for recreational boating exams — sailing, powerboat and jet ski — across Europe. We are not a training school or a government body, and we do not issue licences. The official exam and certificate are run by your national boating authority. Our single job is to get you ready to pass.

Why we exist

Boating knowledge is scattered across dense manuals, forums and country-specific PDFs. We put it in one place: clear lessons, exam-style questions with explanations, and a plain-language guide to how licensing actually works in each country.

One tool, many countries

The core skills — rules of the road (COLREGs), navigation, weather, safety — are the same wherever you sail. What changes is the national exam and paperwork. That is why every guide is tagged by country, so you always know what applies where you are.

We are not tied to any school, manufacturer or authority. That keeps the advice honest: we tell you which certificate you actually need, and where to sit the real exam.
